Thinking about fic...

and worldbuilding in particular. I always seem to spend a lot of time setting things up before I knock them down: lots of description and exposition and the like, though I've gotten better at keeping explanation to show instead of tell.

I've been working on a sort of "empire" world, with lots of imperialism and politics--I enjoy reading that sort of infighting so I thought I'd try my hand at writing it, but as I write I wonder if I'm not writing too much. Everything seems as if it fits, yet at the same time it takes *forever* to get to the point of what I'm trying to write.

Maybe I should find a beta, no matter *how* sporadic my schedule is lately.

Hmm.

Brand new journal

just for fun. The other one tends to be more RL, so I'm keeping this just for fic and the like.

mataichi, of course, is from Requiem for the Darkness, a truly excellent anime that I wish there was a lot more of.

Otherwise, will try and keep up with this sucker a little more often than I do with my other one.
